What’s that? You didn’t know that there had been a movie made about the ubiquitous cartoon hero? Guess you don’t have kids. Or you’re too busy going to see the “Sixth Sense” and avoiding “The Blair Witch Project.”

What? “I DON’T HAVE KIDS” you say? You’re right. But if you’re looking for a good place to take your god-children (or some you may have abducted from some Mall), and you’re looking to avoid Inspector Gadget, then this is a fun one.

As with all the fractured fairy tales, there’s some obvious kids stuff and some jokes that only the parents will get.

Brandon Fraser plays Dudley. Not bad, but you’re not going to see him in a loin cloth like George of the Jungle. And Sarah Jessica Parker plays Nell, but I kept seeing her in her “Sex In The City” role. Hmmmmm. But I digress.

If you’re stuck going to a kid’s movie, this isn’t a bad one to have to see. You will laugh. And, as always, the good guy wins, which should be a good lesson for the kiddies.

Dudley Do-Right is rated PG because of horse farts.

Editor’s Note: Hank Yuloff is a friend of Cinema Web Magazine and not a regular contributor. We don’t judge anyone by the film(s) they choose to review, but we have suggested some more “adult” fare which Hank may find enjoyable.

Brendan Fraser seems to possess real talent (Mrs. Winterbourne, Gods and Monsters), but also realizes the $ucce$$ and popularity that accompany appearances in such roles as “Dudley Do-Right” and “George of the Jungle” are necessary evils in such a jaded industry. Good luck to Mr. Fraser for as long as he can maintain the balancing act.
