Batman The Brave And The Bold Season 1 is an excellent addition to Warner’s growing library of animated films about The Dark Knight. This series is aimed at a slightly younger audience than previous animated series, including Batman: The Animated Series and Batman Beyond. Unlike those much darker versions, this series pairs Gotham’s greatest detective with other DC characters, including long-time pal Green Arrow, The Blue Beetle, Aquaman, Red Tornado, Wildcat, Deadman, Bronze Tiger, The Atom and even Plastic Man. Banded together, Batman and a new partner take on a different array of evildoers in each episode, ranging from mad scientists to intergalactic crooks, and from power-mad dictators to out-of-control teenagers. In one episode Batman even travels to a parallel world and battles the villainous Owlman!
This 2-disc collection is geared towards a younger crowd, just as the original comic books were. In this cool, cutting-edge and often funny series, bring back old-school comic book styling and dry wit to crimefighting, Batman faces and peril - including other heroes stealing the show – in his relentless pursuit of justice.
For those purists among you who adore the darker characterization, you may not be as happy with this series. But it is kid safe and it still features all of The Batman’s best attributes, while still retaining the soul and spirit of The Dark Knight.
