Hercule Poirot, the famed Belgian sleuth is back again for the fourth DVD set released by Acorn Media, after airing on PBS’s Mystery.

Poirot played brilliantly by actor David Suchet is a detective who’s origins derive from stories penned by the great Agatha Christie.

The three disc DVD set contains two feature length stories, and Super Sleuths, a 47 minute long documentary featuring stars David Suchet, Philip Jackson, Hugh Fraser, and Pauline Moran.

The first feature Mrs. McGinty’s Dead consists of Poirot trying to save a man he believes to be innocent, from hanging for murder. With the help of his long time friend Ariadine Oliver (Zoe Wanamaker) the detective searches for the real killer, even when his own life becomes at risk.

In the second feature Cat Among The Pigeons, we find Poirot at Meadowbank School for Girls. Princess Shaista, a political refugee, is in attendance, and constantly fearing for her own life at the hands of revolutionaries from her home land. When deaths start to occur, and the body count builds up, Poirot takes the case.

Both very enjoyable, mysterious stories, that keep you guessing until the end, the way only Agatha Christie could. With a great character developed by actor David Suchet, Poirot is a fun addition to your movie collection.
