| April 19, 2012

Yo Gabba Gabba: Super Spies is a new collection from Nickelodean and Paramount Home Entertainment featuring the Gabba Land gang and DJ Lance. As always, the episodes are full of fun, music, and great life lessons. This collection features episodes that will not only entertain the children but help with problem solving skills. The children will see the gang faced with issues in which they must figure out the solution. Problem solving skills are important for all children to have. This collection of episodes can be a helpful addition to what the children are learning elsewhere.

As always, the episodes in this collection of Yo Gabba Gabba: Super Spies contain fun songs and dances for the children to participate in while they are watching the episode. Participation is an important aspect of the show for the children. Not only does it keep them from just loafing in front of the television, it also helps the children to retain the information. Music and movement are great ways to solidify information given to children. Children enjoy repeating stories and shows that they find fun. The songs are easy enough that the children can learn them in a few watches. This means they will then begin to repeat it to themselves later during play. This constant repetition will also help to solidify the lessons that are being learned, in this case, ways to problem solve and help others.

Another great aspect of the show is that parents can use Yo Gabba Gabba: Super Spies as a helpful tool in their toolbox to help their children learn to be successful. Teaching your children about life can be complicated, there is so many things they need to know and it helps to have a variety of great tools on hand. Yo Gabba Gabba can be one of those great tools if used in addition to other tools. No children’s show should be used as the only way a child learns information but it can be a great addition. And Yo Gabba Gabba is certainly a show you want on your child’s shelf.

This DVD of Yo Gabba Gabba has four episodes including “Super Spies”, “Mystery”, “Space”, and “Big”. In “Super Spies”, the Gabba land gang will have to figure out the mystery of the stolen balloon art in order to have their party. In the episode “Mystery”, the gang must look for clues because Foofa has disappeared. In “Space”, DJ Lance and the gang go into space and meet new alien friends. In the last episode in this collection, “Big”, Brobee learns that it is not as easy being big as he thought it would be. A special feature included in this set is an interactive spy game.
