Chicago, IL- After opening one week in the St. Charles and west suburban area at 9 movie theatres, Munger Road, the suspense thriller about a haunted road in Bartlet, IL, grossed over $100,000 - running alongside DreamWorks’s Real Steel. It beat out some suburban theatres showing Sony/Columbia’s The Ides of March starring George Clooney. Munger Road will open at Oak Park’s Lake Theatre (1022 Lake Street) this weekend and have an introduction and Q&A session from 26 year old writer/director, Nick Smith. He will be there both Friday and Saturday night, October 14th & 15th at 8:10pm and 10:10pm screenings. In addition, today, the film’s success prompted another 23 Chicago and extended suburban theatres also opening this Friday, October 14th. Nick Smith, the writer and director of Munger Road, wrote the script in 2010 and brought together his friends from Columbia College to produce the film in the late summer of 2010 in his hometown of St. Charles, Illinois.
