The Condo

| January 23, 2018

In the newly-released film The Condo, a real estate agent in an unhappy marriage and three of his friends lease a house from one of his clients. Their plan is to use the house as a place to bring their girlfriends so the wives will not find out about the cheating husbands. I lost interest in this film very early on; the entire premise seemed silly to me. The Realtor’s wife had an inking that her husband was cheating, and the shenanigans that pursued when she arrived at the house one time seemed so juvenile.

This comedy reminded me of  The Apartment, a long ago film starring Jack Lemmon who is looking to move up the corporate ladder, and he finds a solution by letting his superiors use his apartment for their extra-marital trysts. However, I would much rather screen The Apartment again.

The Condo, which I’m sure doesn’t have its roots or is trying to imitate the former film in any way, is filled with a bunch of stereotypes and scantily clad, “does the elevator go to the top” women. It may be a hoot for some who would enjoy the antics and all the close calls with the legitimate partners of the men, but it just wasn’t anything that really kept my interest.

The Condo is distributed by Gravitas Ventures and stars Baron Jay, Michael Joseph and Jackie Moore. It is now available on VOD.
