Letters to Juliet

| September 15, 2010

Amanda Seyfried shines in Letters to Juliet, playing Sophie, a young writer who finds herself in a love triangle while on vacation in Verona, Italy. Sophie is torn between her current boyfriend, played by the fantastic Gael Garcia Bernal, and a man she meets in Verona, played by (relative) newcomer Christopher Egan. All of the action takes place amidst a gorgeous Italian countryside backdrop, which really becomes its own character. Last but not least, the ever beautiful and legendary Vanessa Redgrave plays Claire, a woman who is searching for her childhood love – coincidentally she was inspired to find him after Sophie finds an old love letter she wrote over 50 years ago, and contacts her about her story. For romantic comedy standards, Letters to Juliet exceeds expectations – plus, it doesn’t hurt that Amanda Seyfried is pretty fun to look at.
The film is released on a dual Blu-ray and DVD disc and includes deleted and extended scenes, a making of the film, as well as audio commentary from Seyfried and the Director, Gary Winick.
