A Mind To Kill

| February 21, 2010

Welsh detective Noel Bain solves crimes in his own unique way. He’s stubborn, cranky, and he never gives up. He relies not on science or technology, but unerring instinct, keen intelligence, and a passion for defending the innocent. This riveting police series features intricate plots, strongly drawn characters, and gritty authenticity with acclaimed actor Philip Madoc (The Last of the Mohicans, Dr. Who) as an old-school detective whose forte is taking on high profile and disturbing modern crimes.
Bain is a workaholic widower who also struggles to protect his teenage daughter, Hannah, from the world of criminals and violence – a world he knows all too well; one filled with horrific murders, brutal sex crimes, and unrepentant villains. Bain’s dedication to discovering the truth often bends the rules he so staunchly defends, but he always returns the scales of justice to the standards of fairness and balance.
With strong similarities to series such as Inspector Morse and Cracker, A Mind To Kill was nominated for five Welsh BAFTA awards, including Best Actor. The program aired over five seasons in the U.K. in the mid-90’s. The three-volume DVD set includes six feature-length mysteries and releases from Acorn Media on February 2, 2010.
