Fangoria Weekend of Horrors Brings Three Monstrous Days to Chicago, February 23-25, 2007

Fangoria‘s Weekend of Horrors” convention invades the Chicago area February 23-25 with a monstrous line-up of top horror talent from both film and television. This annual fright-filled three-day event will take place at the Wyndham Chicago O’Hare Hotel, 6810 North Mannheim Road, Rosemont.
Exciting guests and programs set for Fango’s Chicago blast include David Arquette, actor of Scream films, Riding the Bullet, Eight Legged Freaks, and the director of The Tripper; Jared Padalecki, hot star of Spernatural; Shawnee Smith, Saw series actress; Jeffrey Combs, horror great from Re-Animator, From Beyond, and The Frighteners, as well as Star Trek; Doug Bradley, actor best known as Hellraiser‘s Pinhead!; Bill Moseley, vile villain of The Devil’s Rejects and new Grindhouse; and Ken Foree, tough guy actor from Dawn of the Dead, The Devil’s Rejects and the new Halloween.
Fango attendees will also be able to meet a variety of “behind the scene” greats all weekend. Marcus Nispel, director of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake, will discuss his latest film, Pathfinder. Robert Kurtzman, Wishmaster director, will preview his latest films, Buried Alive (starring Saw‘s Tobin Bell) and The Rage. Uwe Boll, notorious director of House of the Dead, Alone in the Dark, and Bloodrayne, will preview his new epics, Seed and Bloodrayne 2. Voltaire, Goth guru and author (Paint It Goth), will perform a musical set. Courtney Solomon, An American Haunting director, will talk about the second edition of his After Dark Horrorfest with surprise guests.
Several star-packed presentations scheduled include: Fangoria Comics Panel, with editor Scott Licina and writer/artist Mark Kidwell; and a Fangoria Radio Panel will be moderated by hosts Dee Snider of Twisted Sister fame and scream queen Debbie Rochon.
More of the fright field’s favorite faces will also appear at the Fango convention: Lloyd Kaufman, the Troma chief and creator of the Toxic Avenger, will debut footage from his new epic, Poultrygeist; Ralis Kahn, the Dead & Breakfast FX artist, will do makeup demonstrations and perform with his band, deadbyday; Tim Seeley, creator of Hack/Slash, will have the scoop on the movie version of his cult comic book.
Also, there will be a special preview of George Romero’s Diary of the Dead with exclusive first look footage by documentarian Michael Felsher. Many more surprise guests will be announced at the show.
The Chicago convention will also host a costume contest, Friday night Desert Party, Fangoria TV screenings, a jam-packed indie-horror movie festival and advance previews of such films as Grindhouse, The Hills Have Eyes 2, 28 Weeks Later, Dead Silence, Wrong Turn 2, Hatchet, Behind the Mask, Skinwalkers, Hostel: Part II, The Host, Premonition and many more…
On Friday night at 9:00 PM, Fangoria brings back the “Shock-N-Roll Spooktacular,” sponsored by Coffin Case and Schecter Guitar Research, featuring the horror-themed bands and performers Ralis Kahn’s Dead by Day, Fashion Bomb, and Living Dead Girlz. DJ Brianne, courtesy of Demons & Darlings, will be spinning Gothic, Ethereal, Industrial, Darkwave, Death Rock, Horror Punk and all things spooky!

General admission tickets are available in advance or at the door for $15 on Friday and $20 for Saturday or Sunday.
